Is out-of-hospital birth safe?

Home Births 'as Safe as Hospital' - New study from the Netherlands - the "largest study of its kind has found that for low-risk women, giving birth at home is as safe as doing so in hospital with a midwife." Seattle Home Maternity Service contracts with most insurance companies including: Premera, Regence, Uniform Medical Plan, Molina, CHPW, First Choice, United, Aetna, Cigna and DSHS/Medicaid.
